BUT you do have the easy and hard watercaves which are packed with lootcrates and I can't recommend them enough. Just go north and hit the black tipped rocks with an anky. I wouldn't even dive for oil tbh it requires taming a dunky to be efficient and they're absolute ass.

A decent basilo with a decent saddle can kill pretty much anything in the ocean. If it were me I would go : ichty (dolphin thingy, it's fast and you can shoot from its back), anglerfish (for pearls) and a basilosaurus. Bary is good, easily deals with most of the annoying water dinos but it's on the slower side and not great for deep dives. As I mentionned before diplocaulus can outrun most threats and gives oxygen but you can't shoot from its back which suuuuuuucks for water taming. They are a great mobility dino but their hitbox is a joke (super hard to hit anything) and they die in half a second. Ichty are mostly found in the ocean around red obelisk on Island, in my experience. I'd recommend making a couple of laz chowders overall because they don't lock you into using one specific tame. You can tame a diplocaulus or use a lazarus chowder however and still get fairly decent time underwater without drowning. If it bores you or it's not an option THEN : If you look at the edge of the ice shelves, a lot of them will spawn in silica pearlsĭo a note run or kills alphas to get scuba tbh then do swamp cave with a megatherium to rush lv100. Silica pearls can be found everywhere and looks like a shiny sparkly clam clam shell.you can actually find them in the snow biome super easy without haveing to swim. However if you talking about an actual water based tame, itchy is super easy to do with kibbles Barynox has a spin stun attack that is super useful. Sarco is stupid fast underwater but is easy enough to tame up on land. I would recommend a super high level itchy, a bayronox, and perhaps a sarco. Itchy's can be found relatively easily everywhere around the island, however its strongly recommended to use kibble to speed up the process. A basil is prolly not going to be a good idea as they move way too slow Ok, from top to bottom. It will heavily influence your tameing choices.since you will only be relying on how long you can hold your breath to dive any depth, your prolly going to be looking at itchy, manta, sharky, and such. where should I be able to find silica pearls and what do they look like? is there anything else I should be diving for besides oil and silica pearls? seems to me the ocean's usefulness stops there. first few water tames should be? I really have no clue what is considered easy or hard in the ocean I do not like going there, don't have to much equipment to use btw where should I look for ichthyosaurs? I am at hidden lake and I can't find many of them in the sea near there. I'm level 74, so no oxygen tank yet, how greatly will this impact me? Just saying not look for deep diving mainly just get to oil rocks and stuff

It is important to note that the 100% bonus is applied to Crafting Speed and Custom Recipe Quality only, not Blueprint Quality.Hello all, just have a few questions about how to approach my first exploration of the ocean.Remember that Crafting Speed does not work on items crafted at a station instead of in your inventory.Instead of Cooked Meat you can also use the same amount of Cooked Fish Meat.If Wood is used as the fuel source, Charcoal will be created during the cooking process and only Dye will be cooked. This food improves your Movement Speed by +25% and Crafting Speed by +100% for 15 minutes (900 seconds).Įating Focal Chili will temporarily increase your crafting speed and custom recipe quality bonus, but not your blueprint quality bonus.īe sure to include a Waterskin, Water Jar or Canteen with at least 25% water in the Cooking Pot and use Thatch or Angler Gel as the fuel source. It can be created in a Cooking Pot or Industrial Cooker. Focal Chili is a dish in ARK: Survival Evolved.
